Meet the Founder

James Spriet grew up in the Pacific Northwest. He began working in the timber industry, running saws, stacking green chain, leading crews, and operating heavy equipment. That background shaped a practical view of systems, risk, and accountability long before he entered the defense world.

In 2006, he joined the United States Air Force. Over the next two decades, he built a career spanning Electronic Warfare and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance from end to end. His work has covered operations, research and development, integration and test, maintenance, training, and strategy across air, ground, space, and cyber domains. His experience runs the full lifecycle, from early concept through deployed combat systems.

He has supported some of the most sensitive mission systems in the U.S. inventory, built and led training pipelines, and operated in high-consequence environments where performance mattered immediately and failure carried real cost. He has worked at the highest classification levels and delivered across multiple deployments in contested operational settings.

Today, James advises board members, executives, and senior defense leadership on strategy, operations, communications, and growth. He is engaged when decisions require technical depth, operational judgment, and a clear understanding of how systems behave outside briefing slides.

James founded Raven Whispers to focus his work on the intersection of operations, systems, and decision-making. His approach is shaped by two decades inside EW/ISR, spanning deployed environments, system development and test, training, and senior-level strategy. The emphasis is not commentary. It is clarity.
